A rock band building songs with punk speed, melodic lyrics and guitar shredding riffs in the mountains outside Asheville. After gigging across the Southeast for a couple of years as the core of a Southern Rock band, the boys woke up in December 2022.

Hungry for something beyond the typical, they formed Caged Affair. Armed with a name offensive to some, enigmatic to others and a love of 90’s pop-punk rock, they set out to create music blending Tyler’s demanding baselines, Harley’s electric riffs and Cody’s frantic drumming. The result thus far has been three new pop-punk rock or whatever you want to call it originals, with some airplay on the local radio and several thousand streams. More raucous and riveting songs are in various stages of creation and production as the band continues to work on completing their full debut album by the end of summer.

The Band:

Tyler Kemmerling, lead vocalist, bassist and audio engineer is a New Jersey transplant who began playing guitar almost 20 years ago after falling in love with Green Day’s American Idiot. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Tyler began writing, producing and recording music in his bedroom in his teens. He then honed his craft by earning an audio engineering degree and working in studios in Chicago and Nashville while continuing to create songs of his own. Tyler hopes to deliver energy, sincerity and aggression to the masses as part of this new venture.

Harley Linville, lead guitarist and backing vocalist, is a Western North Carolina native who has been dedicated to mastering guitar since age 12. A self-taught musician who aims to please the masses with his speed and skill, Harley draws inspiration from both rock and blues. Once you watch him play live, you’ll realize that he makes what he does look easy because he is doing what he loves.

Cody King, drummer, was born and raised in Tampa, FL. He picked up his first pair of drumsticks at age 13, and his new hobby quickly turned into a passion. Heavily influenced by some of the most legendary rock and roll drummers, including John Bonham, Dave Grohl, Neil Peart and Chad Smith, Cody strives to drive the punk-side of Caged Affair with aggressive flying sticks. In 2022, Cody partnered with Pork Pie Percussion. Dig the Pig!!
